The Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST), in collaboration with the Centre for Intelligent Cloud Computing (CICC), organised an Academic Sharing Session titled “Smart and Secure Digital Technologies for a Sustainable Future” on 3 March 2026 in Melaka. The session highlighted the importance of digital innovations in supporting sustainable and resilient development.

The programme featured two speakers from Rajalakshmi Engineering College, India. Dr. Manikandan Thirumalaisamy from the Department of Computer Science and Business Systems (CSBS) presented a talk titled “Empowering Sustainable Societies Through Secure Digital Transformation.” Meanwhile, Dr. Ramesh Shunmugam from the Department of Mechatronics Engineering delivered a presentation on “Smart Technologies for Sustainable and Secure Future.”

During the session, the speakers shared insights on the application of smart and secure digital technologies, as well as the importance of interdisciplinary approaches in addressing sustainability challenges. The event also provided an opportunity for academics and participants to exchange ideas and discuss current developments in digital technologies. It is hoped that the attendees gained valuable insights from the session, which highlights MMU’s commitment to encouraging knowledge sharing and discussions on technological developments for a sustainable future.
