In December 2025, students from the Faculty of Business (FOB) took part in two beach clean-up activities at Klebang Beach, Melaka, combining hands-on environmental work with sustainability awareness.

On 12 December, 32 students, guided by Associate Professor Dr. Yuen Yee Yen, collected plastic waste, discarded fishing gear, and other debris along the shoreline. Within a few hours, dozens of bags of trash were cleared, and the activity ended with a reflection session on the importance of protecting the environment and taking responsibility for the community.

Following this, on 20 December, 17 Diploma in Accounting students, supervised by Ms. Lim Su Yin, extended the clean-up to the shoreline, nearby fields, and surrounding drains. The collected waste was sorted into recyclables and non-recyclables, with recyclable items sent to Pandulalu KITARecycle Ayer Keroh. Students also created social media posters linking environmental protection with business values such as corporate social responsibility, ethical decision-making, and responsible consumption.

These initiatives support several UN Sustainable Development Goals, including sustainable cities and communities, responsible consumption and production, climate action, and life below water. More importantly, they offered students practical experience in environmental stewardship while fostering awareness of their role in building a sustainable society. These initiatives encourage students to step beyond the classroom and actively contribute to both the community and the planet.

Well done!
