The Faculty of Cinematic Arts (FCA) has launched Script Incubator 2026, with the programme’s first day featuring a sharing session by industry practitioner Erma Fatima on 17 January 2026 at the MMU Cinema, Cyberjaya campus.

The four-month incubator programme, running from January to April 2026, aims to support MMU students in developing their storytelling and scriptwriting skills through practical exposure to industry practices. During the opening session, participants were introduced to the fundamentals of professional scriptwriting, including the discipline and approach required to develop workable scripts.

The Script Incubator focuses on idea development, peer discussions, and mentorship, enabling students to refine their concepts with guidance from industry professionals. The programme is open to students from all faculties, in line with FCA’s efforts to encourage cross-disciplinary creative collaboration. The positive response on the first day reflects strong interest in the programme, which will see participants work towards completing their scripts by the end of the incubation period.
