MMU team achieved remarkable success at the Hari Inovasi Negeri Melaka 2025 by winning four awards, including the Gold Award and Special Award for The Hustler Boardgame, along with two Silver Awards and one Bronze Award. The event was held on 25 September 2025 at Universiti Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia Institute of Chemical and Bioengineering Technology (UniKL MICET) in Alor Gajah, Melaka.
MMU’s award-winning projects include:
- The Hustler Boardgame – Gold Award and Anugerah Khas (Special Award), led by Mr. Vincent Chan from the Faculty of Business (FOB) and Centre of Excellence (COE) for Business Innovation and Communication with team members Nadhrah Abu Hassan, Nurul Atiqah Mohd Shukry, and Ikha Fadzila Md Idris.
- JM App – Silver Award, developed by Casswin Lim Kai Xin and Julian Yong Yee Qian, under Mr. Vincent Chan’s mentorship.
- FORTIS: Flow-Oriented Retrieval & Threat Intelligence System with LLMs – Silver Award, supervised by Prof. Lim Heng Siong from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) and COE for Robotics and Sensing Technologies.
- AEGIS-5G – Bronze Award, developed by Sofia Batrisyia, Tan Jun Yan, and Ding Teck Sheng under Prof. Lim Heng Siong’s guidance.
Themed “Driving Innovative Solutions Towards a Prosperous Community,” the programme brought together around 150 participants from schools, higher education institutions, and government agencies across Melaka.
Jointly organised by the State Government of Melaka and UniKL MICET, the event featured nine competition categories covering environmental technology, manufacturing, disaster management, food innovation, and social sciences. The ceremony was officiated by YB Datuk Fairul Nizam Roslan, State Executive Councillor for Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Communication, who emphasised innovation as a holistic means to enhance the quality of life.
MMU’s participation was supported by Prof. Dr. Hishamuddin Ismail, Campus Director of MMU Melaka, and the Technology Transfer Office (TTO), which continues to champion innovation and commercialisation among MMU talents. These achievements show the university’s strong commitment to fostering creativity, advancing research, and encouraging innovations that make a real difference in the community.
