From 7 to 11 July 2025, four academic staff members from the Faculty of Management (FOM) – Ts. Dr. Anusuyah Subbarao, Dr. Aaron Aw Teik Hong, Ms. Premylla Jeremiah, and Dr. Abby Ashraff – successfully completed an intensive five-day hands-on SAP training programme during the SAP Academic Community Conference APAC 2025 in Manila, Philippines.

The programme provided a robust, practical learning experience, combining keynote sessions, panel discussions, breakout activities, and specialised Train-the-Trainer workshops. Participants explored a range of SAP modules and advanced business technology solutions tailored for academic applications.

Among the key focus areas were SAP S/4HANA with Global Bike 4.2, ERPsim, SAP Analytics Cloud, and SAP Artificial Intelligence with Joule. The training also introduced sustainability-focused modules, such as S/4HANA EHS and SAP Ariba, equipping participants with tools to integrate sustainable practices into enterprise solutions.

Breakout sessions further enhanced the learning experience, offering insights into research-focused seminars, effective teaching methodologies, and new faculty orientation. Mini workshops covered SAP SuccessFactors, Business Builders, SAP Signavio, and strategies for incorporating SAP learning tools effectively in classroom settings.

The programme was facilitated by expert trainers and seasoned industry practitioners, whose real-world SAP implementation experience added depth and relevance to the sessions. Supporting organisations, including the Academic Board APAC, Asia Pacific College, and ACC Melbourne, also contributed to shaping a comprehensive learning platform that bridges academic knowledge with industry’s best practices.

The academicians expressed gratitude the university for sponsoring the international training, showing MMU’s commitment to supporting academic excellence and the professional growth of its faculty. With the knowledge gained from this programme, FOM is better prepared to contribute to the SAP academic network in the APAC region and to provide students with practical, industry-relevant business technology education.
