A passionate team led by Dr. Subhacini Subramaniam from the Centre for Management and Marketing Innovation successfully carried out a Knowledge Transfer Programme (KTP) through their second community engagement at SK Infant Jesus Convent (2), Melaka, recently. The programme was delivered over two impactful sessions with support from the project team members, namely Ms. Siow Yung Ern, Ms. Usha Vellapan, and Ms. Ng Woan Ming.
A total of 21 enthusiastic students from Kelab Alam Sekitar participated in the programme, where they were introduced to entrepreneurial thinking infused with the principles of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.
Through a series of hands-on, interactive activities, the students explored innovative and sustainable fashion concepts such as upcycling, ethical sourcing, and circular economy-based business models. These experiences were designed to cultivate environmental responsibility, instill ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) values, and inspire youth-led sustainable practices in their daily lives.
This programme is part of the university’s commitment to driving impactful community engagement through the Knowledge Transfer Programme (KTP), a national initiative supported and championed by the Technology Transfer Office (TTO). The TTO continues to play a pivotal role in enabling knowledge exchange between academia and the community, aligning innovation with national development goals and MMU’s broader sustainability agenda.
Well done!
