MMU Career Connect demonstrated its dedication to nurturing student success and employability with the recent conclusion of its highly anticipated Career Development Workshop Series, held throughout July 2025. Designed exclusively for MMU fresh graduates and students, the series aimed to equip participants with practical skills and strategies to excel in today’s competitive job market.

Spanning three interactive sessions, the workshop focused on key aspects of career preparation. The first session, “Career Exploration & Job Search Strategies,” held on 8 July 2025, guided participants in identifying their strengths, exploring potential career paths, and applying effective job search techniques aligned with current industry demands. The session featured valuable insights from Mr. Kong Ching Meng, Founder and Managing Director of Cari Job Holding Sdn Bhd, and Ms. Monique, Senior Talent Consultant at JobStreet by Seek.

This was followed by the second session on 15 July 2025, “Resume and Cover Letter Writing,” where students learned how to create impactful resumes and cover letters that capture employers’ attention. The session was conducted by Ms. Michelle Thillaga, MMU alumna from the Class of 2014 and currently Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition at Donalson Filtration (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.

Wrapping up the series on 29 July 2025, the final session, “Personal Branding & Online Presence,” helped participants understand the importance of building a strong personal brand and effectively using online platforms for professional networking and career opportunities. The session was facilitated by Mr. Abdul Khaliq, Learning Development Consultant.

The workshop series attracted more than 60 participants, many of whom praised its practical approach and the opportunity to connect with peers and industry experts. Through initiatives like this, MMU continues to go beyond academic learning, preparing its students and graduates with the tools, confidence, and insights needed for long-term career success. MMU Career Connect remains committed to delivering more workshops, strengthening industry partnerships, and providing valuable career guidance opportunities in the coming months.
