Eighteen Bachelor of Communication (Strategic Communication) (Honours) students from the Faculty of Applied Communication (FAC) have etched their names on the global stage, capturing first, second, and third place at the 2025 GlobCom International PR Pitch Competition, recently.
In FAC’s debut appearance, the FAC AllStars students worked virtually with peers from 18 universities across five continents to craft a fully-fledged, data-driven public relations campaign for Panthera, the world leader in wildcat conservation. The students’ blend of strategic insight, cross-cultural agility, and compelling storytelling wowed a jury of industry executives and academics, delivering an unprecedented podium sweep for MMU.
First place was secured by Adlyna Nailya Zamsury and Amania Reezayana Haris Zulkarnain, while second place was won by Nur Irdina Nordin and Nur Imanina Azman. Third place went to Muhammad Nadzif Najib and Shasmeen Sufia Shahrimi Jefrizal. The remaining 12 FAC AllStar students powered the campaign with rigorous research, analytics, creative ideation, and design—showcasing the cohort’s depth of talent.
The faculty hosted the certificate presentation ceremony in June 2025, where Dr. Mokhtarrudin Ahmad, FAC Dean presented the Certificates of Achievement and applauded the students’ efforts under the supervision and mentorship of Prof. Dr. Adamu Abbas Adamu. The GlobCom International PR Pitch Competition challenges cross-border student teams to design professional, international-standard campaigns for not-for-profit clients, fostering intercultural collaboration, ethical practice, and real-world problem solving.
Well done!
