Team N3WBEES from the Faculty of Information Science & Technology (FIST) secured a Top 5 finish at the recent NETSA Skill Challenge 2025, a national Capture The Flag (CTF) cybersecurity competition hosted by Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM). The team, made up of Melvin Kwan Yii Syn, Nawfal Syafi’ bin Zailan, and Muhammad Iffat bin Hanafiah, placed fifth among 20 participating teams from various local universities.

Organised as part of UTeM’s National Enhanced TVET Skills and Assessment (NETSA) initiative, the competition featured technical challenges across key cybersecurity areas including Forensics, Cryptography, Web Exploitation, IoT Hacking, Steganography, and Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT).

Also representing MMU was Team Triple A Battery, consisting of Aida Sakinah bt Kahirol, Muhammad Eusoff Aminurrashid bin Shukri, and Ammar Saifuddin bin Ridza, who placed 14th. Both teams were mentored by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Ooi Shih Yin.

While the competition was intense, the students showed commendable effort, teamwork, and perseverance. Their involvement reflects MMU’s continuous effort to nurture young cybersecurity talent through hands-on learning and real-world exposure.

Well done!
