On 9 May 2025, the Department of International Business and Management at the Faculty of Business (FOB) successfully organised an Engagement Session for newly enrolled students from the Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) in International Business and Diploma in Business Administration programmes. The session took place at the I-Trade Lab, bringing together 22 first-year students for an afternoon of learning, connection, and self-discovery.
The primary objective of the session was to ease the transition of new students into university life by fostering a supportive academic environment and promoting personal development. Students participated in a personality assessment exercise designed to offer valuable insights into their strengths, preferences, and growth potential. The results enabled them to reflect on their individual attributes and how these may influence their academic and career paths.
To further encourage engagement and rapport-building, the session featured a variety of interactive and enjoyable games. These activities not only energized the atmosphere but also helped cultivate communication skills and a sense of community among the students.
The event was graced by the presence of key academic leaders, including Dr. Chow Mei Min, Head of Department; Dr. Susan Chin, Programme Coordinator for BBA (Hons) IB; Ms. Ikha Fadzila, Programme Coordinator for DBA; and Mr. Hasfaizal Bin Hasan, Deputy Programme Coordinator (DBA).
The faculty remains committed to nurturing a holistic and inclusive educational experience for all its students. This engagement session marks the beginning of many more initiatives aimed at empowering students both academically and personally.
