Multimedia University (MMU) marked another historical milestone through its spectacular 19th MMU Convocation Ceremony 2018 from 22 until 23 September 2018.

The annual auspicious ceremony witnessed the installation of the new MMU Pro-Chancellor, Emeritus Professor Tan Sri Dr. Zakri Abdul Hamid. The announcement of the installation was made by Prof. Datuk Ts. Dr. Ahmad Rafi Mohamed Eshaq, the President of MMU. The grand occasion also announced the conferment of an Honorary Doctor of Management  to Yang Berbahagia Tan Sri Dato’ Paduka Dr. Fng Ah Seng, a famous philantrophist who is also the Founder and Chairman of Epic Valley Holdings Group as well as the Chairperson of Yayasan Muhibbah.

Also present at the ceremony were Tan Sri Dato Seri Dr. Sulaiman Mahbob, the Chairman of Telekom Malaysia (TM), Datuk Bazlan Osman, Acting Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of TM as well as representatives from other universities in Malaysia.

The convocation ceremony also witnessed a total of 3,889 graduates receiving their credentials which comprised of 41 Doctorates, 114 Master’s degrees, 2,927 Bachelor’s degrees, and 807 Diplomas in the fields of Engineering, Information Technology, Cinematic Arts, Creative Multimedia, Life Sciences, Management, Accounting and Law.

Yang Berbahagia Tan Sri Dato’ Paduka Fng Ah Seng shared his insight to the graduates and students in order to excel in the future careers through adopting a hardworking attitude and practice lifelong education. He also emphasised that the youth needs to read the right books to gain the right education.

“Return to your universities or attend courses to gain more knowledge on management. Spend time honing your management skills in your daily operations and workplace,” he said in his speech after receiving the award from Yang Amat Berbahagia Tun Dato’ Seri Zaki Tun Azmi, the Chancellor of MMU, at Dewan Tun Canselor, Cyberjaya.

Fng Ah Seng also advised the graduates to invest their time in mixing with relevant successful professionals and leaders in their chosen industry in order to learn and benefit from their experiences.
