He was among 12 students selected from a pool of 52 participants to receive the PROTON Young Talent Award.

The competition is part of the PROTON Young Talent (PYT) Programme, which challenges university students to develop innovative and practical solutions to business issues in the automotive and mobility industry. It provides a platform for participants to apply analytical thinking, strategic problem-solving, creativity and teamwork to industry-relevant challenges.

Vishan’s recognition highlights the relevance of strategic communication skills beyond traditional communication roles, particularly in business strategy, critical thinking and interdisciplinary collaboration. His achievement demonstrates how students can apply their communication knowledge and competencies to address complex business challenges in an evolving industry landscape.

The programme also provides potential career development opportunities for high-performing participants, including industry mentorship, structured professional development, hands-on industry experience and conditional employment offers upon graduation. MMU was also represented by a team from the Faculty of Business (FOB), reflecting the university’s participation across different academic disciplines in this industry-focused competition.
