Sharing Insights on Connected Vehicles at an International Conference

Ts. Dr. Sumendra Yogarayan, Deputy Dean of Postgraduate and Collaborations at the Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST) delivered an online keynote address at the 3rd International Conference on Computing & Data Science (ICCDS 2026) in October 2026.

Organised by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Rajalakshmi Engineering College, India, and technically sponsored by the IEEE Madras Section, the conference brought together researchers, academics, industry professionals and students to exchange knowledge on developments in computing and data science.

Titled Edge Vehicles: Intelligence at the Speed of the Road, the keynote explored connected vehicle technologies and their role in the development of intelligent mobility. It highlighted opportunities within the connected vehicle ecosystem, alongside challenges involving connectivity, interoperability, security and the integration of advanced technologies.

The address also touched on future research directions towards developing smarter, safer and more sustainable transportation systems. Through this international platform, Dr. Sumendra shared his expertise in connected vehicle technologies with the wider academic community.
