On 22 October 2026, the university celebrated the dedication and contributions of its staff at the MMU Staff Awards 2026, recognising colleagues whose efforts behind the scenes play an important role in the university’s progress and daily operations.

Organised by Human Capital Management (HCM), the ceremony began with an opening speech by Ms. Siti Zaiton Ismail, Acting Senior Director of HCM, who underscored the role of the Staff Awards in recognising dedication, celebrating achievements and fostering a culture of appreciation across the university.

MMU President and CEO Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud highlighted that every member of MMU, whether in an academic or professional role, plays an important part in supporting students, colleagues and the university’s continued development. He encouraged staff to maintain a shared commitment to quality, collaboration and continuous improvement by exchanging ideas, improving work processes and finding better ways to deliver value to the university community.

Staff wellbeing and engagement were also among the key messages of his address. He emphasised the importance of listening to staff feedback and translating it into meaningful action, while fostering a working environment where everyone feels respected and supported.

He also highlighted the MORE MMU universe as a shared direction for the university community, encouraging staff to contribute their experience, ideas and strengths towards shaping MMU’s next chapter. The emphasis was on building an inclusive workplace where staff take pride in their roles and play an active part in the university’s continued development.

More than a celebration of individual accomplishments, the MMU Staff Awards 2026 served as a reminder that the university’s progress depends on the people who contribute to its success every day. The occasion also encouraged the MMU community to carry the spirit of appreciation beyond the ceremony by recognising one another’s efforts and continuing to support each other at work.
