The Faculty of Management (FOM) has recently extended its educational outreach to girls and young women from B40 households through The Gift from Heart (Hadiah Dari Hati), a Knowledge Transfer Project that promotes personal wellbeing and financial literacy.

Carried out in collaboration with Pertubuhan Ikatan Wanita Prihatin (PIWP) and local communities, the initiative combines educational sessions on personal care and reproductive health with practical guidance on budgeting, saving and responsible spending. It also introduces reusable cloth sanitary pads as a more affordable and environmentally friendly alternative to disposable products.

The programme was conducted across three communities in Selangor, at Surau Al-Khubaizah in Taman Bunga Raya, Salak Tinggi; Surau Al-Amin in Section 8, Bandar Baru Bangi; and Surau Al-Istiqamah in Section 16, Bandar Baru Bangi. One of the sessions was officiated by YBhg. Tuan Mohd Shafie B Ngah, Selangor State Assemblyman for Sungai Ramal (N26).

Designed for female participants aged 10 to 20, the programme features two modules: Menstrual Health and Women’s Reproductive Care and Remaja Hebat! Bijak Berbelanja, Bijak Menyimpan (Smart Teens: Spend Wisely, Save Wisely). The sessions provide practical guidance intended to help participants make informed decisions about personal wellbeing and manage their finances more effectively.

The project is led by Mdm Hamsatulazura Binti Hamzah, with support from FOM team members Mdm Rapiah Mohd Zaini, Mdm Azleen Shabrina Mohd Nor and Mdm Haslin Johari. PIWP assists with participant registration and publicity, while local communities support venue and hospitality arrangements. The initiative gives young women the opportunity to learn about personal wellbeing and financial management through activities conducted with FOM and its community partners.
