More than 70 students gained valuable insights into career opportunities in Global Managed Network Services (GMNS) through an industry session entitled “Engineering to Operations: Career Pathways in Global Managed Network Services (GMNS)” held on 2 September 2026. Coordinated by Madam Nor Hazleza Mohamad, the session featured Permata Dunia, Mr Fauzul Hazwan Khalid, Chief Executive Officer of Comarnet Sdn Bhd, who shared his industry experience and insights into the evolving GMNS landscape and career progression from engineering roles to operations and leadership positions.

Drawing from real-world examples and practical industry experiences, Mr Fauzul highlighted the importance of combining technical expertise, operational capabilities and leadership skills to navigate today’s increasingly digital business environment. The session also provided students with a clearer understanding of current industry trends, emerging career opportunities and the skills required to build successful careers in the technology and operations sector.

The interactive session encouraged students to engage in discussions and gain first-hand perspectives on the realities of working in the industry. By connecting classroom learning with professional practice, the session enabled students to better understand industry expectations and explore career pathways beyond traditional engineering roles.

The initiative reflects FOM’s continued commitment to strengthening industry engagement and enriching student learning through meaningful exposure to the professional world. Organised through a collaboration between the MMU Cadetship Centre, Faculty of Management and industry partners, the session provided students with practical insights and inspiration as they prepare to pursue careers in the dynamic digital and technology-driven business landscape.
