Two innovative learning projects, namely Jayden’s Story Board Game and Jayden’s Story Deck AI, were showcased at the Karnival Minggu Sains Negara 2026 Zon Selatan, held at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) on 10 August 2026.

Representing MMU were Faculty of Business (FOB) lecturers Ms Vinothini a/p Apoo, Ms Zalina binti Jaffar and Ms Cheryl Chan, together with students Muhammad Khuzaïri bin Zazali, Puvaneswri a/p Kunasegaran, Navina a/p J Subramaniam and Prishaa a/p Rhames. Supported by the Knowledge Transfer & Technology Department (KTT), the team demonstrated how gamification, storytelling and artificial intelligence can be integrated into learning to encourage creativity, communication and active participation among young learners.

Jayden’s Story Board Game uses storytelling and gamification to develop communication, creativity, confidence and problem-solving skills, while Jayden’s Story Deck AI incorporates artificial intelligence to support storytelling, language development and learner feedback. Through interactive demonstrations, visitors had the opportunity to experience both learning tools firsthand and explore how creative and technology-enabled approaches can make learning more engaging and accessible.

The carnival was officially launched by the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Datuk Chang Lih Kang. The Exco for Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Communications of Melaka, Datuk Fairul Nizam Roslan, also highlighted the importance of direct learning experiences in encouraging young people to explore STEM.

MMU’s participation provided an avenue to bring its educational innovations closer to the community while giving its students valuable exposure to public engagement, innovation showcasing and knowledge transfer. The showcase reflects the university’s continued efforts to connect academic innovation with meaningful learning experiences for the younger generation.
