FOB Industry Handshake Programme Equips Future HR Professionals with Real-World Recruitment Experience

Bridging academic learning with industry practice, the Faculty of Business (FOB) conducted the Industry Handshake Programme under the Recruitment and Selection subject, providing Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) in Human Resource Management students with the opportunity to address real recruitment challenges faced by industry.

As part of the University’s iCadet Programme, the initiative immersed students in authentic recruitment and selection scenarios, where they collaborated with industry partners to analyse hiring challenges and develop practical recommendations. Through this hands-on experience, students gained valuable exposure to understanding organisational needs, evaluating recruitment strategies, and making informed decisions within a professional context.

The programme received support from eight participating companies, including Blubricks Melaka, Dynamix Dance & Music Academy, and Zueraysya Enterprise. The initiative concluded with an industry presentation session, where student teams presented their findings and recommendations to Human Resource Managers on 1 July 2026. The session enabled students to engage directly with industry professionals, receive constructive feedback, and gain deeper insights into employer expectations, recruitment practices, and workplace decision-making processes.

The Industry Handshake Programme reflects the University’s commitment to producing industry-ready graduates through meaningful workplace exposure. By connecting students with industry partners and real-world business challenges, the initiative continues to develop adaptable graduates equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to contribute effectively to their future careers.
