A total of 50 student projects took centre stage at the Digital Business & AI Showcase 2026, held at the MMU Melaka campus on 24 June 2026. Organised by Dr. Yuen Yee Yen and Mr. Vincent Chan with the support of Career Connect under the theme “Innovate. Automate. Elevate.”, the showcase highlighted students’ creativity and their ability to develop practical solutions for real-world challenges through digital technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Of the 50 projects presented, 44 were developed under the Diploma subjects Fundamentals of Business & Ethics and Digital Business Venture & Strategy, while the remaining six projects were produced under the Business and AI subject. The projects reflected months of dedication, critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork, with students challenged to identify problems and propose innovative digital solutions with meaningful impact. From business innovation platforms and digital services to AI-enhanced applications, the showcase demonstrated students’ readiness to contribute to an increasingly technology-driven future. Several projects also focused on raising awareness of the global impact and applications of AI, reflecting its growing importance in shaping industries and societies worldwide.
A unique requirement of the competition was the integration of at least one AI-powered feature into each solution. This encouraged participants to explore emerging technologies and understand how intelligent systems can improve business processes, enhance user experiences, and drive digital transformation. Through this hands-on experience, students gained valuable exposure to the practical applications of AI in modern business environments. The event was officially opened by Dr. Siti Zakiah Melatu Samsi, Dean of the Faculty of Business (FOB), who emphasised the importance of innovation, digital literacy, and future-ready skills in preparing graduates for the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
An esteemed panel of judges from academia and industry were invited to the event namely Ts. Shamsul Fakhar Abd Gani from Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), Mr. Mohd Zaki Mohd Fadil from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Ts. Dr. Sumendra Yogarayan from MMU, Ms. Dehviaalini Siva Kumar, Founder and Principal Learning Consultant of KindFluence Leadership Studio, Mr. Donald Ong Choong Xin, Technical and Training Director of Environmental Competency Consultancy Sdn. Bhd., Ms. Elise Liong representing SAMENTA, Dr. Fion Goh Hui Lee, CEO of Scell Culture Lab Sdn. Bhd., and Ms. Loong Poh Yan, Senior HR Manager at Wiz AI.
The showcase also featured a guest sharing session by Azlan Rudy Bin Abdul Malik, from Wiz.Ai who provided valuable industry insights on the transformative impact of AI across various sectors. In the afternoon, Prof. Dr Hishamuddin Ismail, MMU Melaka Campus Director, presented tokens of appreciation to the guest speaker, judges, and competition winners in recognition of their contributions and achievements. This event served as a testament to the creativity, resilience, and innovative spirit of MMU students, while providing a meaningful platform for them to transform ideas into impactful solutions and prepare themselves as future digital leaders and innovators.
