
In an effort to strengthen research competitiveness and enhance grant success rates, the Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Artificial Intelligence organised a research proposal writing workshop on 10 June 2026, featuring expert guidance from TM R&D Director, Ir. Dr. Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman. The workshop brought together researchers and members of the CoE for AI to gain practical insights into developing strong and competitive research proposals, particularly for TM R&D funding opportunities.
During the session, Ir. Dr. Abdul Aziz shared his experience and expertise in research proposal development, highlighting the key elements that contribute to a successful submission. Participants were guided on identifying research gaps, formulating clear objectives, structuring proposals effectively, and presenting research ideas in a compelling and impactful manner. The workshop also provided valuable perspectives on aligning research proposals with industry needs and funding priorities.
Organised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wan Noorshahida Mohd Isa and Dr. Nor Hidayati Abdul Aziz, Chairpersons of the Centre for Image and Vision Computing (CIVC) and Centre for Advanced Analytics (CAA), respectively, the workshop was well received by participants. The programme provided a useful platform for knowledge sharing and discussion, while supporting ongoing efforts to strengthen research capacity and foster greater collaboration between academia and industry.
