On 14 May 2026, the Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) launched its Apprenticeship Programme with MyKopitiam in collaboration with Ah Ma Ho Liao (Melaka) Sdn. Bhd., led by MMU alumnus Kelvin Tan Chun Hou at the Melaka campus. The programme was officiated by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, who highlighted the importance of strong collaboration between academia and industry in preparing students for the working world.

A total of 13 students were selected to participate in the programme, where they will gain firsthand experience in daily business operations while developing practical and entrepreneurial skills beyond classroom learning. The students also received their appointment letters from Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud during the launch ceremony. The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen students’ industry exposure and entrepreneurial learning through programmes conducted by the EDC.

The involvement of Mr. Kelvin Tan as both an industry partner and MMU alumnus made the collaboration especially meaningful, as students were able to learn directly from someone who once studied at MMU and has since built his own entrepreneurial journey. Students were also encouraged to make full use of the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and real-world experience throughout the apprenticeship programme. Such collaborations continue to reinforce the importance of experiential learning in equipping students with practical skills and industry relevance.
