Fifteen lecturers from the Faculty of Business (FOB) and one lecturer from the Faculty of Information Science & Technology (FIST) completed the Train the Trainer (TTT) – Be Money Wise (BMW) Workshop, jointly organised by the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC), Securities Industry Development Corporation (SIDC), and TVET Malaysia. The workshop was held on 25 April 2026 at Hatten Hotel, Melaka, with the aim of strengthening lecturers’ capacity to deliver effective financial literacy education through structured and engaging approaches.
The programme exposed participants to the Be Money Wise framework, including learner profiles, common financial literacy challenges among youth, and strategies for effective learner engagement. Emphasis was also placed on instructional design and the use of interactive teaching tools such as videos, games, quizzes, worksheets, and role-play activities to enhance delivery impact.
Through hands-on micro-teaching sessions and peer feedback, lecturers further developed their facilitation skills and instructional confidence. From a university perspective, this initiative strengthens MMU’s role in advancing national financial literacy efforts while enabling lecturers to integrate practical financial knowledge into teaching and outreach activities, ultimately supporting the development of financially aware and future-ready graduates.
