On 27 April 2026, a group of 197 students from the Faculty of Business (FOB) participated in an industrial talk titled “Beyond Numbers: Career Readiness for Future Accountants with Integrity and Good Governance” held at the Melaka campus. The session featured Ms. Rosie Noorahim, an alumna of Permata Dunia 2011, Certified Integrity Officer (CeIO), and Corporate Governance Industry Lead.

The speaker shared valuable insights on navigating the accounting profession while upholding integrity, professional judgement, and ethical decision-making. Students were engaged by discussions on common challenges faced by professionals, such as handling confidential information, navigating organisational hierarchy, identifying weak internal controls, and working under unfamiliar governance standards. The session also provided practical guidance on bridging academic knowledge with real-world boardroom and regulatory realities, supporting students as they prepare for internships and early-career placements.

The session was coordinated by Ms. Nur Faezah Binti Jayiddin and Dr. Nor Hasliza Binti Mat Hasan, in collaboration with the Centre for Alumni and Career Connect. Dr. Khair Razlan Othman, Head of the Centre for Alumni, also attended the event and presented a memento to the speaker. By the end of the session, students had gained not only practical career tips for accounting internships and entry-level roles, but also a deeper understanding of how ethical and professional conduct enhance employability while strengthening alumni-industry collaboration.
