We are proud to share the outstanding performance of MMU student-athletes at the Varsity Swimming Championship – Circuit 1, held from 18 to 19 April 2026 in Penang. The team secured a total of six medals, comprising one gold, two silver, and three bronze medals over two days of competition.

Leading the medal haul was Christy Teh Xing Ti from the Faculty of Law (FOL), who delivered a strong performance in the backstroke events. She captured gold in the 50m backstroke and added a silver in the 100m backstroke, setting a strong pace for the MMU contingent. Adding to the tally, Issac Lee Jun En from the Faculty of Business (FOB) secured a bronze in the 400m Individual Medley, marking a solid opening for the team.

On the second day of competition, Christy continued her consistent form by clinching a silver medal in the 50m breaststroke, while Issac added another bronze in the 200m Individual Medley, reflecting steady performances across multiple events.

MMU concluded the championship on a high note with a bronze medal in the 4x100m Freestyle Mixed Relay, featuring Christy Teh Xing Ti, Airell Aidan Hamzah, Evelyn Mi Ran Oh, and Borneel Choudhury.

Overall, the team’s performance reflects the dedication, resilience, and competitive spirit of MMU’s student-athletes, who continue to strengthen the university’s presence in national inter-varsity sporting events, with their next challenge set at SUKIPT 2026 in August 2026.
