We are proud to share that Telekom Research & Development Sdn Bhd (TM R&D), the innovation arm of TM Group and a subsidiary of Multimedia University (MMU), has won at the Malaysia Technology Excellence Awards 2026 in two categories: Network and Broadband – Telecommunications and Automation – Telecommunications on 2 April 2026.
The awards recognise TM R&D’s development of two advanced platforms, ANTRIX and SMART-E, designed to enhance network assurance and automate large-scale infrastructure migrations across Telekom Malaysia Berhad’s (TM) nationwide network. Developed in collaboration with Group Network Technology, these platforms address long-standing operational challenges while improving efficiency, visibility, and service continuity across TM’s broadband ecosystem.
ANTRIX (Advanced Neural Telecommunication Resolution Interface and Exchange) is a smart network operations platform deployed nationwide in December 2025. It monitors network alerts, performance data, and service indicators in real time. Unlike traditional systems that relied on manual reporting, ANTRIX automates monitoring and response, enabling faster generation of trouble tickets, restoration plans, work permits, and change requests. The platform also replaces TM’s legacy system and provides intelligent analysis tools to identify root causes and coordinate solutions efficiently across the network.
SMART-E (System for Migration & Technology Refresh of Network Element Tool) streamlines Optical Line Terminal (OLT) migration activities during network upgrades and technology refresh programmes. The platform automates the entire migration process, reducing manual configurations, improving inventory synchronisation, and ensuring service continuity. SMART-E also integrates with TM’s inventory systems to handle tasks such as service setup, change management, and pre- and post-migration checks automatically.
The Malaysia Technology Excellence Awards, presented by Asian Business Review, recognise organisations that lead technological innovation and digital transformation across industries in Malaysia. TM R&D’s recognition highlights the organisation’s ongoing commitment to research-driven innovation and its contribution to strengthening TM’s network capabilities.
