MMU Team Among Top Five Finalists in 2025/2026 CFA Institute Research Challenge Malaysia

Let us extend our heartiest congratulations to our students from the Faculty of Management (FOM) for making the top five finalists in the 2025/2026 CFA Institute Research Challenge Malaysia on 17 January 2026. The team comprises Muhammad Zariff bin Sazali, Muhammad Ashril bin Mazlan, Nurbaiti binti Saupi, and Mohamad Irfan bin Mohd Azmi from Bachelor of Finance programme. Under the guidance of Faculty Advisor Madam Zarehan Selamat, CPA, and with expert mentorship from Industry Mentor Mr. Bobby Lee Chia Yih, CFA, the team showcased exceptional collaboration, analytical skills, and dedication throughout the competition.

Competing against 46 teams from 27 universities nationwide, MMU’s students impressed the judges with their thorough research, teamwork, and professional presentation. The CFA Institute Research Challenge provides university students with practical exposure to real-world investment research, ethical decision-making, financial analysis, and valuation. Participants work closely with faculty advisors and industry mentors to produce a comprehensive equity research report and deliver investment recommendations to a panel of industry professionals.

The team will now advance to the Local Final on 7 February 2026, with the winning team moving on to the Sub-Regional stage of the competition. Congratulations to the team on their achievement, and best of luck in the final round.
