A group of students accompanied by their subject advisor, Ms Nurainiah Abu Hassan from the Faculty of Business (FOB), took part in an educational visit to a recycling facility in Ayer Keroh, Melaka in December 2025. The visit was conducted under the Sustainable Society subject as part of the students’ project field activity, aimed at enhancing their understanding of sustainability practices.

The visit aimed to deepen students’ awareness of the environmental benefits of recycling, particularly how effective recycling practices can reduce waste generation and minimise carbon footprints at the community level. Through this exposure, students gained a better understanding of the importance of collective responsibility in environmental protection.

During the visit, the facility provided a comprehensive environmental education briefing, followed by a guided tour of the exhibition area. Students learned about recycling processes, waste segregation, and the role of community-based initiatives in promoting sustainable living. They were also given the opportunity to participate in hands-on activities involving the management of recyclable waste. This practical exposure allowed students to apply theoretical knowledge in real-life settings, strengthening their awareness of and commitment to sustainable practices.
