Let us extend our heartiest congratulations to Ir. Prof. Dr. Koo Voon Chet from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) for being awarded the Luminary Award at the Malaysia Invention and Innovator Convention (MYIIC) 2025, held recently.

The award recognises outstanding contributions in specialised technological fields. Prof. Koo received this honour for his groundbreaking work in Ground-Based Synthetic Aperture Radar (GB-SAR). His innovation in this advanced radar technology has made a significant impact in the areas of environmental monitoring, infrastructure assessment, and disaster risk reduction, further solidifying MMU’s position as a leader in high-impact research.

Organised by the Malaysian Invention and Design Society (MINDS), MYIIC also presents the Meritorious Award, Certificate of Excellence, and Luminary Award, celebrating breakthrough Malaysian inventions that drive innovation, sustainability, and technological progress.
