A team consisting of twenty students led by four project leaders and supported by two academic mentors, secured funding for their project, Ilmubridge, at the National University to Community (UTC) 3.0 Programme. The programme concluded its third phase at The Ship Campus, Batu Kawan, Pulau Pinang, from 14 to 17 December 2025.

The Ilmubridge project, supported by the Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC), is led by Ain Nabihah Binti Iskandar Idris, Taibah Airin Binti Taib Tariq, Ho Jen Jay, and Thrischtha A/P Sathiamoorty, under the mentorship of Dr. Nurul Nadia Binti Nordin and Dr. Mohd Fairuz Bin Abd. Rahim. The team received RM17,000 in funding under UTC 3.0, with an additional RM1,000 secured through pitching, reflecting the project’s clear value proposition and implementation potential.

Organised by Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE), the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development (MEDAC), Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Berhad (PUNB), and Institut Keusahawanan Negara (INSKEN), the bootcamp provided an intensive, hands-on platform for student-led projects to refine business strategies, strengthen community engagement, and enhance long-term sustainability. The programme involved participants from 18 public universities, one private university, as well as institutions from Polytechnics and Community Colleges.

Throughout the bootcamp, participants were also exposed to industry practices through Social Enterprise (SE) visits to Waffiy Industries, a food processing machinery supplier, and Mutiara Jingga Marketing Sdn Bhd, an OEM product manufacturing factory. These visits offered practical insights into production processes, supply chain operations, and industry best practices.

The programme concluded with a pitching session evaluated by a panel of judges comprising Ms. Viviantie Sarjuni, Chief Executive Officer of INSKEN, and Ms. Norhazreen Abd Ghani, Head of Marketing and Entrepreneur Development Unit at PUNB. Their feedback provided valuable guidance in strengthening the project’s business direction and readiness for implementation. The team’s participation and achievement highlight the university’s continued commitment to nurturing student-led initiatives that create meaningful impact within the community.Congratulations!
