The Sekretariat Rakan Muda MMU Cyberjaya brought its flagship outreach programme, Zoom Sarawak 2025, to Kampung Tambirat Hilir, Asajaya, strengthening ties between MMU students and the local community from 16 until 19 October 2025. The programme concluded with a closing ceremony graced by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd. Su’ud, President of MMU who commended the students for their commitment to community service and meaningful engagement with the local villagers.
The initiative brought together MMU student volunteers and local residents through a series of activities that blended education, creativity, and cultural exchange. It began with Majlis Penyerahan Anak Angkat, where students were officially adopted by their foster families, followed by STEM education sessions and mural painting, sparking collaboration and creativity among the youth.
Student volunteers also took part in a gotong-royong and mural restoration, as well as traditional handicraft workshops that showcased the rich artistry of the local community. The evenings came alive with activities such as Wayang Pacak outdoor film screenings and the vibrant Malam Kebudayaan dan Jamuan Rewang, where everyone celebrated unity through food, music, and traditional performances. The programme culminated with Ziarah Asnaf visits and a heartfelt closing ceremony, marking the end of a journey filled with friendship, empathy, and cultural appreciation.
Through its blend of educational outreach, cultural immersion, and social service, Zoom Sarawak 2025 continues to embody MMU’s commitment to nurturing holistic, community-minded graduates who contribute positively to nation-building and social impact.
