The Converged Telecommunications Policy and Regulations (CTPR) Masterclass, or CTPR 2025 Cohort Two, was successfully held from 6 to 10 October 2025 at The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur. The session was graced by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU who welcomed participants and keynote speakers to engage in insightful discussions on the theme “The Age of Intelligent Connectivity: 5G, AI, Security & Sustainability.” The opening ceremony was officiated by Mr. Abdul Karim Fakir Ali, Managing Director of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
Jointly organised by MCMC, MMU through its commercial arm CNERGY, and the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA), this flagship masterclass celebrates its 10th edition this year. Since its inception, more than 300 regulatory professionals from across ASEAN and beyond have benefited from this initiative, equipping them to address the evolving challenges and opportunities of the digital landscape.
Crowning the decade-long journey, the CTPR Masterclass 10th Anniversary Dinner was held on 8 October 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, graced by Tan Sri Dr. Halim Shafie, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, Mr. Niall Magennis from GSMA, and Ms Dayang Aidah Awang Piut from MCMC, Dato’ Dr Amirudin Abdul Wahab from Cybersecurity Malaysia together with the participants and organising committee including Dr. Bahma Sivasubramaniam, Deputy Chairman of the programme. The evening also featured a special montage and token presentations to honour key contributors to the CTPR Masterclass, celebrating a decade of collaboration and success.
The CTPR Masterclass is designed to meet the dynamic needs of telecommunications policy and regulatory frameworks in the digital era. It serves as a strategic platform for government officials, regulators, and industry players to strengthen their understanding of converging technologies, policy innovation, and emerging trends such as 5G, artificial intelligence, and digital infrastructure. Through high-level discussions and practical knowledge exchange, the programme continues to foster regional collaboration and capacity building reinforcing the shared goal of advancing effective governance and sustainable growth within the digital economy.
