Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Ng Kok Why, Deputy Dean (Student Experience and Academic) of the Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FCI) played a key role at the MBOT Computing Education Symposium 2025 when he served as the moderator for a high-profile forum held at The Everly Hotel, Putrajaya, on 7 August 2025.

Themed “Empowering and Charting the Future of Computing Education at the Global Level,” the forum brought together key leaders and experts in computing and technology to discuss the changing landscape of computing education, its global impact, and future directions.

The panel featured Professor Datuk Ts. Dr. Massila binti Kamalrudin, Chairman of the Malaysian Technical University Network (MTUN); Professor Ir. Yuen Pak Leung, Chairman of the Seoul Accord; Dato’ Ts. Dr. Haji Amirudin bin Abdul Wahab, FASc., Chief Executive Officer of CyberSecurity Malaysia; and Mr. Koay Tze Siang, Managing Director of Dell Technologies Malaysia.

Also present were Professor Emeritus Datuk Ts. Ir. Dr. Siti Hamisah binti Tapsir, FASc., President of the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT), and Datuk Ts. Mahadhir bin Aziz, Director of Technology Infrastructure, Johor Corporation. The forum drew more than 180 deans and academic leaders from across Malaysia, highlighting the importance of collaborative dialogue in advancing computing education.

MMU’s involvement in this symposium, through the role of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ng as moderator, reflects the university’s strong presence in national-level discussions and its continuous effort to contribute to the development of computing education in Malaysia and beyond.
