In support of entrepreneurial growth among students, the Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) hosted three insightful sessions in July 2025, focusing on boosting students’ financial literacy, costing knowledge, and content creation skills.
The first session, titled “Understanding Costing for Start-Ups”, was delivered by Ms. Hamsatulazura Hamzah from the Faculty of Management (FOM) at the EDC Innolab, Cyberjaya campus. The session guided budding entrepreneurs through essential aspects of financial planning, cost management, and pricing strategies. Through interactive discussions, real-world case studies, and hands-on exercises, participants learned how to forecast expenses, optimise budgets, and develop competitive pricing models. The workshop also underscored the importance of financial discipline for securing funding and achieving long-term growth.
The following day began with a virtual talk entitled “Empowering Financial Literacy among MSMEs”, conducted by Mr. Emi Ezrulhisham, who introduced MesinKira, a platform marketed as “the only retailing platform you’ll ever need.” Students explored practical financial tools crucial for managing and expanding business ventures.
The focus then shifted to the digital space with “Content Creation: Content That Sells”, a physical session led by Kirsheanrajh Suresh, MMU startup founder and recipient of the MMU Best Startup award. Drawing from his entrepreneurial journey, Kirsheanrajh shared effective strategies for crafting engaging content that captures attention and drives customer action in today’s competitive online market.
Across both days, participants walked away with enhanced capabilities in financial management, cost optimisation, and digital branding, equipping them with the tools and mindset to thrive as future entrepreneurs.
