MMU welcomed a delegation from the Philippines Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to its Cyberjaya campus on 16 June 2025, as part of the Training and Sharing on Quality Assurance initiative spearheaded by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MMU, welcomed the delegation, which was led by Dr. Mildred Manalang Libot, Chief Education Program Specialist from CHED’s Office of Institutional Quality Assurance and Governance and Tuan Abdul Saman Taip, Director of MQA Training Centre (MQCTC). The visiting delegates comprised of twenty officials from CHED and six from MQATC.
Prof. Ts. Dr. Gerald Goh Guan Gan, Director of Strategy and Quality Assurance, introduced MMU’s continuous institutional quality assurance structure and processes, while Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Goh Vik Tor, Director of the Centre for Learning Excellence and Academic Intelligence insights into MMU’s Outcome-Based Learning (OBE) approach with the delegation.
Following the briefing session, the delegates were taken on a tour of MMU Land, where key facilities such as the HyFlex hybrid learning spaces, IDEAS Lab, and Smart Farming Lab were showcased. These spaces exemplify MMU’s integration of Internet-of-Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence technologies in support of sustainable development goals (SDGs). The visit also featured the e-Gallery and MMU Cinema, where the delegates viewed short films and received insights into the industry-based student learning approaches adopted by MMU.
The event marked a significant milestone in advancing regional collaboration on academic quality and institutional governance within ASEAN. The visit also provided an avenue for meaningful knowledge exchange between MMU and CHED on effective institutional quality assurance practices. This engagement underscored a shared commitment to elevating higher education standards and fostering sustainable academic excellence throughout the region.
