Lokal Fresco, an initiative by Zero to One in support of the Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) was held from 13 until 15 May 2025 at the Cyberjaya campus. Highlight of the event was a special engagement session titled Lokal Fresco: Sesi Santai featuring a guest of honour, Dato’ Seri Mustapa Mohamed, a respected figure in public policy and economic planning.

Dato’ Seri Mustapa or known as TokPa shared valuable perspectives on how Malaysia’s youth can be empowered to lead the nation’s entrepreneurial growth. The relaxed yet impactful session drew participation from students, budding entrepreneurs, and staff who were eager to learn from the seasoned policymaker’s experience. The event was also attended by Prof. Ir. Dr. Zulfadzli Yusoff, Vice President of Market Exploration, Engagement and Touchpoint (VP MEET), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ong Jeen Wei, Director of Alumni Engagement, Career and Entrepreneurship (ACE) and his team.

Key discussion points included the crucial role of higher education institutions in shaping entrepreneurial talent, as well as practical ways students can leverage government initiatives and support systems aimed at nurturing young entrepreneurs. Dato’ Seri Mustapa also provided guidance for those considering starting a business during or after their studies and shared personal reflections on policy-making in the context of youth development and entrepreneurship.

The session not only provided participants with deeper insights into Malaysia’s entrepreneurial ecosystem but also inspired them to take bold steps in their own entrepreneurial journeys. Dato’ Seri Mustapa also had the opportunity to tour the booths available at the Lokal Fresco and met with the studentpreneurs at the event.
