A group of Diploma in Business Administration students from the Faculty of Business (FOB) accompanied by Ms. Ikha Fadzila Md Idris made a visit to MRANTI (Malaysia Research Accelerator for Technology and Innovation) in Bukit Jalil on 14 May 2025.
As Malaysia’s national agency for research and innovation acceleration, MRANTI plays a key role in supporting innovation that drives sustainable development. By offering infrastructure, mentorship, and commercialisation pathways, MRANTI contributes to a more inclusive, equitable, and innovative ecosystem, aligned with the principles of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Students were given guided tours of the Makers Lab, Robotics Centre, and 5G Centre, where they experienced first-hand the tools and environments that foster technological solutions aimed at addressing global challenges. This exposure highlights the importance of promoting sustainable, responsible innovation across various industries to ensure that technological advancements benefit all members of society.
The highlight of the visit was a sharing session by Ms. Razana Nawawi, Senior Associate at MRANTI, followed by interactive discussions between students and MRANTI experts. During the session, students shared the current progress of their prototype projects, engaging in meaningful dialogue to seek expert feedback and insights to strengthen their ideas. This collaboration encouraged students to refine their projects for greater social, environmental, and economic impact, aligning with the overarching goals of sustainable and inclusive growth.
MRANTI representatives welcomed the students’ enthusiasm and encouraged those with promising start-up potential to utilise MRANTI’s resources, including innovation labs, expert mentorship, and startup support programs. This support underscores the importance of fostering partnerships and collaborations to accelerate innovation and contribute to sustainable development. The visit served as both an eye-opener and a motivation boost, leaving students better equipped to transform their innovative ideas into impactful real-world solutions that support the SDGs elements.
