The Faculty of Management (FOM) strengthened its commitment to community engagement through the Program Empower Rakyat (POWER), a Knowledge Transfer Project held recently in Manjung to equip local micro-entrepreneurs with practical knowledge in financial management and AI-powered digital marketing.
Held in collaboration with YB Tuan Haji Rosli bin Abd Rahman, ADUN for N.51 Pasir Panjang, Perak, the programme focused on transferring practical knowledge that participants can apply directly to their businesses.
The programme featured two key sessions: Financial Management for Small Traders and AI-Based Digital Marketing. Participants explored practical ways to manage business finances, maintain financial records and monitor cash flow, while also discovering how AI can support marketing activities, generate ideas and create engaging social media content.
The sessions were conducted by Ms Hamsatulazura Hamzah, Dr Diana Abdul Mahad, Ms Rapiah Mohd Zaini and Ms Zarehan Selamat, who shared their expertise and practical insights with the participants.
More than a training programme, POWER served as a platform for knowledge transfer, community engagement and meaningful learning, giving micro-entrepreneurs the confidence and tools to navigate today’s evolving business landscape.
Through initiatives such as POWER, FOM continues to translate academic knowledge into practical value for the community, strengthening the connection between the university and the people it serves.
