FAIE Student Among Top 5 Speakers at Asia-Pacific Leaders Summit 2026

A Foundation in Engineering student from the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Engineering (FAIE), Ammar Bin Hafiz Javed Mukhtar, was named among the Top 5 Best Speakers at the Asia-Pacific Leaders Summit 2026 (APLS 2026), held from 24 to 26 September 2026.

Ammar represented MMU in the Speak Up Competition, where he was first selected among the Top 30 Best Academic Speakers before receiving the Top 5 Best Speaker award at the Leadership Speak-Up Forum. He was also awarded the ALPS Youth Ambassador title during the programme.

The summit brought together young leaders from across the Asia-Pacific region to present ideas on youth leadership, innovation and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  For his leadership pitch, Ammar presented LightUp Youth, a youth-led initiative focused on improving access to clean energy and encouraging young people to take part in climate action. The initiative was aligned with SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy and SDG 13: Climate Action.

The recognition adds to Ammar’s experience in public speaking and youth leadership, while giving him an opportunity to represent MMU and share his ideas on sustainability with fellow young leaders from across the region.

Well done!
