On 9 September 2026, Malayan Banking Berhad (Maybank), with the support of the Faculty of Management (FOM) and the Learning Institute for Empowerment (LIfE), organised #M-PAWered Day@MMU, an initiative aimed at promoting student development, employability and industry exposure at the Cyberjaya campus.
The programme began with a welcoming speech by Mr Erfan Suhaimi, Assistant Director 1, Integrity and Leadership Programme 2026, who welcomed the participants and emphasised the importance of fostering strong collaborations between academia and industry in preparing graduates for future challenges and opportunities. This was followed by an engaging session featuring two Maybank leaders, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Ir. Dr. Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa, Chairman of Maybank and Adjunct Professor at FOM, and Mr Ahmad Nasri Mohamed, Group Chief Customer Experience Officer and an MMU alumnus. Facilitated by LIfE, the session was held as part of the Integrity and Leadership programme and attended by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU, together with other university leaders.
Held under the theme “Preparing for 2030: Skills, Leadership and Opportunities for the Next Generation,” the session offered students valuable perspectives on the skills, leadership qualities and opportunities that will shape the future of work. Moderated by Muhammad Faiz Mohd Shukran, an FOM student and Maybank Ambassador, the interactive forum provided an opportunity for students to hear directly from industry leaders on career readiness, leadership and preparing for a rapidly changing workplace.
The programme continued with a series of activities and engagements led by Maybank representatives across campus, with FOM hosting four key venues. Three FOM venues hosted the classroom takeover, featuring gamified and unconventional activities designed to test students’ practical knowledge and real-world application, while one venue hosted the resilience-building and mental health workshop focused on strengthening students’ resilience, adaptability and emotional intelligence.
Throughout the day, students also had the opportunity to participate in mock interviews with Maybank recruiters and engage in interactive booth activities, giving them firsthand exposure to recruitment processes and career pathways. The interactive booth was successfully managed by MMU iCadet x Maybank #Mbassadors under the guidance of Ms Fatin Zaida Zaidi.
Overall, #M-PAWered Day@MMU provided students with a meaningful platform to connect with industry leaders, gain practical insights and explore the skills and opportunities that can help prepare them for the future.
