The Faculty of Management (FOM) recently conducted a Design Thinking Knowledge Transfer Programme at Sekolah Kebangsaan Pulau Meranti, Puchong, involving 131 Year 6 students on 4 August 2026. The programme introduced the students to the basics of Design Thinking and how it can be used to understand problems and come up with practical solutions.

The students took part in a series of interactive activities, including problem identification, brainstorming, idea generation, prototype development and presentations. Working in groups, they were encouraged to share their ideas, work together and think of creative solutions to issues related to their school environment.

The session was led by Ms Norzarina Md Yatim, with support from Dr Abdul Aziz Ahmad, Dr Noor Shahaliza Othman, Dr Abby Ashraff Saprudin, Ms Nor Hazleza Mohamad, Ms Nursyamimi Houd, Ms Azniyati Akmar Ab Khalid and Mr Zulkefly Yusup.

The programme gave the students an opportunity to learn outside the classroom while developing their creativity, communication and teamwork skills. It also encouraged them to be more confident in sharing their ideas and looking at problems from different perspectives. Through this initiative, FOM continues to bring its knowledge and expertise beyond the university, giving young learners early exposure to Design Thinking in a fun and practical way.
