
Ts. Dr. Sumendra Yogarayan, Deputy Dean of Postgraduate and Collaborations, Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST) attended the inauguration of NEXORA, the newly established IT Club at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Trichy Campus, India, as the Chief Guest on 14 August 2026. The launch brought together more than 100 students, marking the beginning of a new student-driven technology community on campus.
The event commenced with welcoming remarks by Prof. Dr. R. Balasundaram, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, followed by Prof. Dr. R. Deebalakshmi, Head, School of Computing. Also present was Prof. Dr. D. Yuvaraj from the Department of Information Technology, School of Computing, who serves as the Convenor of NEXORA and supports the club’s activities and initiatives.
As Chief Guest, Ts. Dr. Sumendra Yogarayan shared perspectives on the importance of continuous learning, industry-relevant skills, and active participation in technology communities. The engagement also strengthened academic ties between MMU and SRMIST, creating opportunities for future student engagement, knowledge exchange, and academic collaboration.
