MMU formalised a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with UiPath at the Cyberjaya campus on 10 July 2026 to strengthen collaboration in Robotic Process Automation (RPA) education, training, and industry engagement. The ceremony was attended by MMU President, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, and Regional Vice President and Managing Director, Southeast Asia of UiPath, Mr. Amit Khandelwal. The signing ceremony was witnessed by the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of TM Group, Mr. Ivan Chong Yew Meng, in recognition of Telekom Malaysia’s Group Information Technology & Digital (TM GITD)’s significant contribution to the successful implementation of the MMU Academic Alliance initiative.
The partnership marks a significant step towards developing future-ready graduates equipped with digital and automation skills to meet the evolving demands of Industry 4.0. The collaboration is further strengthened through the support of TM GITD under the MMU Academic Alliance initiative, with TM GITD serving as the industry enablement partner by contributing enterprise automation expertise, TM-developed RPA learning assets, curriculum enablement, and practical implementation experience to bridge academia and industry.
Through the collaboration, UiPath will support MMU students and educators by providing access to RPA learning resources, certification pathways, and assessment-based incentives aligned with industry standards. The initiative also strengthens curriculum integration through globally recognised RPA competencies and certification frameworks, enabling students to gain practical exposure to automation tools and workflows. Beyond the classroom, both parties will jointly organise awareness programmes, including competitions, hackathons, and experiential learning activities, to foster innovation, creativity, and problem-solving skills. The collaboration will also facilitate internship, graduate recruitment, and career development opportunities through UiPath and its ecosystem partners, further enhancing students’ employability and industry readiness.
Since its launch in 2025, the MMU Academic Alliance initiative has enabled TM GITD to contribute TM-developed RPA course content, support curriculum integration, engage MMU lecturers, and share enterprise automation expertise, leading to the successful implementation of the RPA elective course under MMU’s Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET). This strategic collaboration reflects the shared commitment of MMU, UiPath, and TM GITD to accelerate digital transformation through education, innovation, and industry collaboration while producing graduates equipped with practical RPA competencies for the future workforce.
