MMU through its International Collaboration and Engagement (ICE) Unit, recently embarked on a series of strategic engagements with three international institutions from China and India, reinforcing the University’s commitment to advancing global academic collaboration in education, research, innovation, and student mobility.

From 29 June to 2 July 2026, MMU engaged with a delegation from Henan Geology Mineral College (HGMC), China, led by Associate Professor Yang Jian, Director of the Henan Digital Human AI Computing Engineering Research Center. The delegation visited the Faculty of Creative Multimedia (FCM), Cyberjaya, and the Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST), Melaka, where discussions centred on immersive media education, academic staff exchange, professional training, research collaboration, and student engagement. The visit also provided an opportunity to showcase MMU’s academic programmes, research capabilities, and industrial training practices.

On 1 July 2026, MMU held discussions with a delegation from the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC), led by Professor John Zhou, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering. Both institutions explored postgraduate articulation pathways, joint research initiatives, faculty collaboration, student mobility, and the establishment of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), particularly in the areas of Artificial Intelligence and intelligent systems.

The following day, MMU also met with representatives from the Santhigiri Institute of Management (SIM), India, led by Fr. Shinto Joseph CMI, Executive Director. Discussions focused on potential collaboration in student mobility, academic exchange, research, and other mutually beneficial initiatives.

These engagements underscore MMU’s continued efforts to expand its international network and cultivate strategic partnerships that create meaningful opportunities for academic excellence, collaborative research, and global exposure for both students and academics.
