More than 100 preschoolers from three kindergartens benefited from two Knowledge Transfer Programme (KTP) initiatives that harnessed the power of game-based storytelling to nurture confidence, creativity and early literacy skills. Conducted from June to July 2026, the programmes demonstrated how innovative educational approaches can enrich early childhood learning through interactive and meaningful engagement.
The initiatives, titled Unlocking Young Voices: A Game-Based Storytelling Programme to Build Confidence and Literacy in Early Childhood Education and From Cards to Stories: Enhancing Group Storytelling and Verbal Articulation, involved children aged five to six from PASTI Genius Huffaz, Tadika Seri Tunas Ceria and Tadika Sacred Heart Convent. The sessions utilised the award-winning Jayden’s Story Board Game as an engaging learning tool that encouraged children to create, develop and share their own stories in a supportive environment.
Throughout the programmes, participants strengthened their verbal articulation, communication, creativity and early literacy skills by constructing narratives and presenting them to their peers. The activities also helped build self-confidence, enabling the children to express their ideas more clearly while fostering imagination, critical thinking and collaborative learning.
The positive response from both the children and educators underscored the effectiveness of game-based storytelling in supporting holistic childhood development. Beyond enhancing language and communication skills, the KTP initiatives exemplify how academic expertise can be translated into practical community engagement, creating meaningful educational experiences while inspiring the next generation of confident communicators and lifelong learners.
