Andrew Tang Jia Hong, our student from the Faculty of Business (FOB) achieved milestones at two recent Taekwon-Do championships. Demonstrating exceptional skill, discipline, and determination, Andrew brought home an impressive haul of five gold medals and one silver medal, further adding to MMU’s growing list of sporting achievements.

At the 1st Legacy Taekwon-Do Premier League 2026, held on 8–9 June 2026, Andrew captured gold medals in the Individual Pattern Black Belt Male 19 Years Old & Above (2nd Dan) and Individual Sparring Black Belt Male 18 Years Old & Above (-80kg) categories. He also emerged as champion in the prestigious Best of the Best Pattern Male category, where winners from all black belt male pattern divisions competed for the overall title.

He continued his winning momentum at the Taekwon-Do ITF Johor Championship 2026 on 13–14 June 2026, securing three gold medals in the Individual Pattern Black Belt Male 18 Years & Above, Individual Sparring Black Belt Male 18 Years & Above (69–74kg), and Team Pattern Male 18 Years & Above Black Belt categories, while adding a silver medal in the Team Sparring Male 18 Years & Above Black Belt event.
