Through the initiative of the Centre of Excellence for Business Innovation and Communication (CoEBIC), collaborative discussions were recently held with Telkom University, Indonesia, aimed at strengthening international academic and research collaboration between both institutions in May 2026.

Representing MMU during the engagement were Dr. Yeo Sook Fern, Director of CoEBIC, and Dr. Lim Kah Boon, Deputy Dean (Postgraduate and Collaborations), Faculty of Business. The MMU representatives were warmly welcomed by the leadership team from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Telkom University, led by Dean Prof. Dr. Farida Titik Kristanti, together with the Vice Deans, Heads of Scientific Groups, Heads of Study Programmes, and faculty representatives.

The discussion focused on the ongoing matching grant project, programme coordination, and future academic and research collaborations between MMU and Telkom University. Among the potential collaborative initiatives discussed were joint research projects, joint supervision and examination, mobility programmes, guest lectures, community service activities, double degree opportunities, and visiting industry programmes.

As part of the engagement, Dr. Yeo Sook Fern and Dr. Lim Kah Boon also delivered a guest lecture session for MBA students, sharing insights on research, international collaboration, and academic development. The session provided an enriching platform for postgraduate students to gain international perspectives and strengthen academic networking.

In addition, Dr. Yeo Sook Fern conducted a sharing session with the academic staff on the topic “Bridging Indonesia–Malaysia Research Towards International Publication and Collaboration.” The session highlighted opportunities for cross-border research collaboration, joint publications, and strategies to strengthen international research networking between researchers from both institutions.

The initiative reflects MMU’s continuous commitment towards strengthening global partnerships, enhancing internationalisation efforts, and fostering impactful collaborations that benefit both institutions, academic staff, and students.
