On 18 May 2026, the Faculty of Management (FOM) welcomed back alumna Ms. Lilian Gun May Ling for an Alumni Sharing Session titled “The Triangle of Wealth: Time, Interest and Diversification.” The session gave students practical exposure to financial independence, investment thinking, and long-term wealth planning.

Ms. Lilian, a member of MMU’s first Finance graduating cohort in 2000, has built a strong international career. Based in Bermuda, she is currently a co-owner of Mathnasium of Chiswick in London, a former Chief Audit Executive of The Bank of N.T. Butterfield & Son Ltd, and an active angel investor. She also shared how disciplined financial habits and strategic investments supported her journey towards financial independence and early retirement.

During the session, she highlighted key principles such as starting early, understanding compound interest, and the importance of diversification in building sustainable financial growth. She also encouraged students to be more intentional in managing their finances and to adopt a long-term perspective in both career and investment decisions.

The session was coordinated by Dr. Muhammad Nizam Zainuddin, Mdm Zarehan Selamat, and Dr. Izyan Syazana Awaludin, as part of faculty’s ongoing efforts to strengthen engagement between students, alumni, and industry practitioners.
