MMU Academic Shares Insights on Inclusive Research at International Conference

Dr. Yeo Sook Fern, Director of the Centre of Excellence for Business Innovation and Communication, was invited as a keynote speaker at the Synergia International Research Conference 2026 in the Philippines in May 2026. The conference brought together academics, industry practitioners, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate researchers for discussions and knowledge sharing across various fields.

She delivered a keynote address titled “Transforming Research Cultures in the Global South: Innovation, Equity, and Impact.” The session focused on the importance of building inclusive and innovation-driven research environments, strengthening fair and meaningful research collaborations, and enhancing the real-world impact of research in the Global South.

It also opened discussions with participants from diverse backgrounds on research practices, innovation, and the future of higher education. Her participation as a keynote speaker further reflects MMU’s presence in international academic discussions and its continued engagement in advancing meaningful research conversations globally.
