Gaining First-Hand Insights into Leadership in Malaysia’s Public Administration

On 15 May 2026, students from the Faculty of Management (FOM) gained valuable insights through the FOM Industry Learning Partner (ILP) Talk delivered by Tn. Hj. Mohd Shahfie bin Jabarullah, Principal Assistant Director (Service Division), Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA).

With more than 20 years of experience in the civil service, the speaker shared key perspectives on leadership in the public sector, including its practices, challenges, and career opportunities available to graduates. The session also featured interactive team-building activities, providing participants with practical and experiential leadership learning.

The engaging session offered meaningful exposure to the role of leadership in public administration and inspired students to consider the potential of contributing to Malaysia’s civil service and national development. Coordinated by Dr. Mohd Fairuz bin Abd Rahim, the session was also graced by the presence of Professor Dr. Tan Booi Chen, Dean of FOM.
