The MMU Beamer programme continued its outreach journey with a visit to Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seksyen Sebelas, Shah Alam, Selangor, on 14 April 2026, featuring Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Goh Vik Tor, Director of the Centre for Learning Excellence and Academic Intelligence (LEARN).
Returning to his alma mater, Dr. Goh engaged with students through a motivational sharing, drawing from his academic journey and experiences from school to university and into his professional career. His reflections offered a relatable perspective and encouraged students to stay focused on their studies, embrace curiosity, and remain open to opportunities that lie ahead.
The engagement also highlighted the importance of perseverance, continuous learning, and making informed decisions when navigating their future education pathways. Through Dr. Goh’s personal experiences, students gained a clearer sense of how academic choices can shape long-term outcomes.
The programme is part of MMU’s ongoing Beamer initiative, which aims to connect university leaders and alumni with schools to inspire and guide students through meaningful engagement and knowledge-sharing.
MMU extends its appreciation to the Principal, Mohd Affendy Japar, and the school community of SMK Seksyen Sebelas, Shah Alam, for their support and cooperation in facilitating the programme.
Beyond the sharing, students were also introduced to the university’s academic offerings through interactive activities, creating a more engaging and dynamic environment throughout the programme. The visit provided students with meaningful exposure to higher education pathways while reinforcing the importance of confidence in pursuing their academic goals.
